£45k donated to NNUH to reequip catheter lab

Last month NHT donated £45k as an emergency to the NNUH to replace the haemodynamic monitoring equipment in one of the catheter labs.
Haemodynamic monitoring is an essential part of any cardiac catheterisation and angioplasty procedure as it enables the operators to measure the pressures inside the heart as well as the electrical activity. Procedures cannot take place without it. When it irreparably broke down in one of the cath labs recently and the NNUH could not afford to replace it, NHT agreed to provide the funds for replacement equipment which allowed the lab to remain functioning. Without this donation many patients would have been denied there investigation and treatment.
